About
Alternate Ways Coaching
Welcome to Alternate Ways Coaching the dedicated ADHD coaching service founded by Brian Hooker in 2026.
I am an certified ADHD coach with a background in software development and agile coaching, bringing a rare blend of technical insight, structure, and empathy to my work. Having spent years working in fast paced, high demand environments, I understand first hand how differently wired minds can both excel and struggle when expected to fit conventional systems.
My path into ADHD coaching was shaped by personal experience. Receiving a formal diagnosis of combined type ADHD was a pivotal moment, one that brought clarity, relief, and a profound shift in self-understanding. What once felt like personal shortcomings were finally understood as traits of a differently wired brain. Creativity, hyperfocus, intensity, and drive were no longer problems to fix, but strengths that needed the right conditions to thrive.
This insight became the foundation of my coaching approach. Rather than focusing on “fixing” people, I help clients understand how their brains work and how to work with them. My coaching supports adults in untangling years of self doubt, frustration, and burnout, replacing them with self-trust, practical strategies, and a clearer sense of direction.
Working with me is a collaborative process of self discovery. Together, we explore patterns, challenges, and strengths, and design realistic systems that fit your life not someone else’s expectations. The goal isn’t perfection, but clarity, sustainability, and a life that feels aligned and manageable.
I trained as an certified ADHD coach with Barrett Coaching and Training and I am currently completing a postgraduate certificate in Neurodiversity at Arden University, ensuring my work is grounded in both lived experience and up to date academic understanding. I am committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice, continually refining my coaching to better serve my clients.

"Empower yourself to take control of your ADHD journey and experience meaningful, lasting change."
